Not the easiest infographic to read, but some interesting takeways being that BIM (Building Information Modeling) use has massively increased and the leading companies also happen to be leaders in the use of technology -- not a coincidence! Yikes! Out of 19 industries, construction industry workers are the MOST likely to click on "phishing" emails (those fake emails that try to fool you into giving information or click on links to bad websites). Be careful out there and spread the word to your staff! Some tips to protect yourself:

When we started HammerTECH, it was in part due to our observation that Hawaii's Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry: 1) Was generally behind the curve in terms of awareness and adoption of technology that could help their businesses, and; 2) Was under-served by generic IT services companies.
In the U.S., the Construction sector is next to last (just beating agriculture) in terms of leveraging technology. Largely because of this, productivity growth in Construction has been near the bottom too, lagging far behind overall U.S. productivity growth. Our hope is that we can help Hawaii's AEC firms reduce risk, improve productivity/profitability, and have less headaches through the sensible and affordable adoption of technology. We're sincere about wanting to help the industry and look forward to inviting IT staff of AEC companies as well as any other IT company serving the industry to get together to share knowledge and raise awareness for the betterment of AEC firms across Hawaii. Stay tuned! |
Checkout (and join) the ConTech Hawaii LinkedIn group where folks from across Hawaii can learn and share about the technology that impacts our industry!
